BCX remembers Mophatlane

Business Connexion (BCX) held a memorial in Bryanston yesterday as mourners paid their final respects to Benjamin Mophatlane - the company's co-founder and CEO, who passed away last week.

A BCX statement notes that Mophatlane - a prominent IT personality - was hailed as "an inspirational leader, son, husband, father and brother, who will be remembered for his undeniable entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and exceptional personality".

Colleagues remembered his humanity that shone through his interactions with staff, business associates, family and friends.

Mophatlane founded the company in 1996 under the name Business Connection, alongside his twin brother Isaac and it later merged with Seattle Solutions in 2001.

Tony Ruitgers, BCX chairman, recalled fond memories of his time working closely with the Mophatlane, adding that the led the company with his heart in a gentle and compassionate manner.

Mophatlane will be laid to rest in Brits on Sunday.
