Bytes Document Solutions (BDS) has appointed JSE-listed Square One Solutions Group as the sole South African distributor for the Xerox Phaser range of colour and mono printers and consumables.
Square One's national product manager for the Xerox Phaser range, Hester Pescivolo, said the appointment, which realigns the distribution of the range, makes strategic sense for the dealer channel and ultimately for end-users.
"The underlying reasons for this include Square One's 10-year relationship with the brand that ensures continuity and the retention of the in-depth knowledge of the range where it offers best value to both the channel and end-users.
"The agreement also ensures that the after-sales experience for end-users is out of the top drawer and maximised in terms of rapid access to preventive and corrective maintenance from highly experienced teams countrywide."
There are several new products now available in SA, including the Xerox Phaser 6100, 7750 and 8400 models in the colour range and Xerox Phaser 3120, 3420 and 4500 in the mono range.
"The range is extensive, from high quality colour printers to front-end personal mono printers to heavy duty mono printers such as the N4525 for high volume work group environments or for the printing of training manuals, policy documents and so on," said Pescivolo.
There is also a new combination printer/scanner/copier/fax workhorse product, the WorkCentre PE16 that caters for small businesses, branch offices and home offices. It prints full colour at 16 pages a minute, has copy zoom and multi-copy features and fax auto and last number redial as well as speed dialling for up to 100 numbers.
Three Xerox Phaser machines, the 6250, 7300 and 7750, recently received the three highest scores in an evaluation review of competitive networked colour printers conducted by InfoWorld.
