BEA WebLogic Integration ships

A single platform to simplify, reduce the costs of integration within and among enterprises
Johannesburg, 26 Jul 2001

BEA Systems, one of the world`s leading e-business infrastructure software companies, has announced the general availability of BEA WebLogic Integration. BEA`s new standards-based integration solution is a key part of the BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform -- a single platform that delivers application server, application integration, business process management, and B2B integration functionality.

BEA WebLogic Integration leverages BEA WebLogic Server, the world`s number one Java application server, and the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Connector Architecture framework to create a solution that bridges application barriers within enterprises, allowing data and business processes to move freely among applications and systems. BEA WebLogic Integration also provides the infrastructure for business Web Services, which are multi-party, transactional, highly automated, Web-based interactions between B2B applications that make supply chains faster, more efficient and more agile.

"With BEA WebLogic Integration, customers can focus on their core business and add value to their customers, rather than spend valuable resources on continually tackling enterprise integration issues," - said Ivan Koon, president of the BEA E-Commerce Integration Division. "We have simplified and standardized application development, deployment and business integration, which will help companies be more competitive, minimise the pain of enterprise integration and reduce IT costs."

BEA has seen a surge of support for BEA WebLogic Integration from market-leading independent software vendors, system integrators, and other industry leaders. Those businesses include Accenture, Actional, Arsin, Attunity, Calico, Cardonet, CEON, Chordiant, Contivo, CSC, Electron Economy, EzCommerce, Infogain Corporation, Insevo, Loudcloud, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Stellcom, Sun Microsystems, and Vignette.

To increase integration-related business opportunities for its partners, BEA has added another dimension to its successful Star Partner Program. The Integration Star Solution is designed to foster communities of partners and help them create end-to-end, open integration solutions around BEA WebLogic Integration. BEA provides its partners with the tools they need to develop and deploy standards-based adapters and packaged processes using the components of BEA WebLogic Integration. In addition, participants receive marketing and sales support to accelerate time to market.

"As our clients extend and unify Web portals to provide customers, partners and employees greater access to applications and systems, they`re evaluating new technologies, such as Web Services, to make their e-business initiatives more powerful,"- said Phil Karecki, chief architect, CSC Consulting. "As a result, we choose to partner with vendors who can provide integration software to simplify the adoption, and speed the deployment, of new e-business initiatives. We have a strong and productive relationship with BEA, and we expect BEA WebLogic Integration to further the standards-based integration solutions we deliver."
