Belay Solutions, the holding company of a number of focused IT businesses, has recently restructured its board of directors.
“This is part of our drive to strengthen our corporate governance, including strengthening our strategic risk management capability,” commented George Grimes, CEO of Belay. “We foresee major growth in our business going forward and therefore needed to implement sound business practices in order to adapt to the growing needs of Belay and its clients. We see this restructuring as one of the essential steps in this process.”
The following new board members have been appointed:
* John Ramatsui as Chairman of the Board. Ramatsui has served on the boards of several very large IT businesses as an Executive Director. He has a sound track record of implementing corporate governance, transformation, and creating large business opportunities within corporates, parastatals and government and is currently a member of the board of Afrisam (previously Holcim).
* Joop Groeneveld as an Executive Director. Groeneveld was a founder member of the AST Group (presently GijimaAST) some 20 years ago. He was a partner and shareholder, and actively involved in the listing of AST on the JSE in 1998 and served on its board for many years. Groeneveld's key strengths include the ability to unlock major business opportunities, to find niches in the market for business development, and to create strong relationships between partners, suppliers and clients alike. His role within Belay will be one of business development, with a focus on creating a unified go-to-market model, unlocking large deals, ensuring that the BEE strategy is on track, and finding and building new areas of business.
* Renesh Buldeo as an Executive Director. Buldeo had previously been with Accenture, where he was a member of the management team that was responsible for the delivery of Microsoft related services within Accenture. Thus, his technical ability will be invaluable in correctly positioning solutions for the Belay client base. Buldeo will also be responsible for the management of Belay's relationships with its global IT partners; and will include the promotion of Belay to them and the securing of large deals with them.
“We believe that the additions to our board will not only strengthen our corporate governance, but will also add significant value and experience in the planned aggressive growth of the Belay business both horizontally and vertically,” concluded Grimes.
