BenQ, I-CSS set standards for after-sales support offered to South African IT consumers

Johannesburg, 17 May 2005

Agreement between the digital lifestyle vendor and SA`s leading service provider covers BenQ`s entire range of products

As part of a strategic initiative to offer South African consumers the most comprehensive service possible, BenQ today announced an agreement with the country`s leading service provider, Independent Computer Support Services (I-CSS).

Working as BenQ`s authorised service provider for the entire South Africa, I-CSS will provide after-sales support and service for all of BenQ`s products sold in the country, including its range of projectors, scanners, LCD PC monitors and flat-panel television displays, and Joybook notebook solutions.

According to executives at BenQ, the move will strengthen their position in the market and enable the company to sustain its impressive growth rates while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

"We have experienced phenomenal growth in SA over the last 12 months, and this appointment is another step in our in-country expansion," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East FZE. "The partnership between BenQ and I-CSS enables us to deliver a far-reaching service to our client base and guarantees that their IT equipment - be it a Joybook notebook or a projector - will be functional regardless of the problem."

With a network of six service centres covering SA`s major cities, including Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pretoria, I-CSS will now deal with all RMA-related issues and support queries from BenQ customers.

"I-CSS has a proven track record of providing best-in-class support service to IT customers. With a team of professional engineers and dedicated RMA centres we can ensure a fast resolution for any product issues," explained Peter Strydom, managing director of I-CSS.

With customer service and support becoming ever more important to discerning consumers wanting the latest products, combined with a service that quickly and efficiently deals with after-sales issues, I-CSS believes it can provide BenQ with a valuable differentiator in a very competitive market.

"What we bring to BenQ is a commitment to their customers, to guarantee that issues are resolved as rapidly as possible. Many vendors fail, not as a result of the product itself, but as a result of poor after-sales support. Customers expect an attentive service, and that is what we intend to provide for BenQ end-users," added Frank Cristelo, national operations manager for I-CSS.
