BenQ to bring fun to fans at UEFA EURO 2004 Fan Park in Portugal

In Portugal, BenQ, one of the world`s fastest growing technology companies, will bring fun, games and enjoyment to thousands of football fans at the UEFA EURO 2004 Fan Park, an outdoor festival in Lisbon featuring dozens of football-related activities for fans of all ages.

BenQ will enable fans to share pictures and messages from the tournament with family and friends, play online football games with fans all over the world, and play football video games against other fans visiting the park.

"UEFA EURO 2004 is one of the premier events in the world, enjoyed by millions of fans," said Jerry Wang, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, BenQ. "For BenQ, sponsoring kiosks in the Fan Park is an ideal extension of our partnership with UEFA, since the Fan Park is all about sharing the fun and enjoyment of football with fans, which is in line with our vision."

At the Fan Park, BenQ will provide fans with the opportunity to download pictures from their digital cameras or choose from an array of other images, select a language, create a message and then choose a frame for their greeting. Fans can then share their experiences by e-mailing the image and message to friends or uploading it to the Fan Park online album.

BenQ kiosks located in the park will feature interactive football-themed games, including the BenQ Super 16 online game. Hosted at BenQsuper16.com, the game puts fans in charge of their own football team, where they must train and maintain their teams` performances. Players face challenges in five areas: fitness, skills, nutrition, publicity and leisure. Working through these challenges, players can develop their teams to peak condition and then compete automatically against fans from around the world for the chance to tickets to the semi-finals and finals of UEFA EURO 2004 and cutting-edge BenQ prizes like the Joybook 5000 laptop computer.

In addition, fans will be able to play the EA Sports UEFA EURO 2004 officially licensed game at kiosks throughout the BenQ area, as well as play against fans at other kiosks. The EA Sports game, which will be displayed on the latest BenQ LCD monitors, allows fans to select from one of 51 European nations. Players can arrange and play friendly matches against other nations or play through the tournament, going from qualifying to playoffs and into the finals. In addition to tracking injuries and suspensions, a new dynamic system tracks players` morale based on individual and team performances, affecting players` abilities on the field.
