Best attendance ever at Novell Reducation Conference

Johannesburg, , 04 Jul 2000

No fewer than 124 Novell resellers and partners from throughout South Africa, including several from neighboring countries, attended the company`s eighth annual Reducation (reseller ) conference in Swaziland recently. According to marketing manager, Trish Barwick, this attendance figure is "the best ever, and indicative of the conference`s increasing recognition as the leading forum for receiving the latest on Novell`s strategies and product offerings".

The new e-business scenario was the main topic under discussion at the conference, which was sponsored by leading companies IBM, Veritas, Metastorm, marchFirst, Lan Design and Workgroup. Delegates were keen to learn more about how the is forcing companies worldwide to change the way they do business. In-depth work sessions dealt with e-opportunities and setting up an e-business, Novell`s ZEN family of products, selling Novell services and the company`s licensing products.

The sessions were followed by a written exam and delegates who achieved top results each received an award for their efforts. Workgroup won the award for the Most Reducated Distributor, while the prize for Most Reducated Person went to Workgroup Sales Manager, Willem Els. Easy Access was declared the Most Reducated Business Expert, while Durban-based Netwize won top honours as the Most Reducated Business Partner.

According to Barwick, delegates` reaction to the conference has been overwhelmingly positive, and has sparked off renewed interest in the Novell offering. "Resellers said they found the conference to be fun, informative, and of extreme value to their sales force," she says. "It is now generally accepted that resellers who miss the Reducation conference, miss out on the opportunity to with their peers, while receiving the latest on Novell developments."
