Despite the dramatic advances in colour laser printing technologies over the past years, the bulk of corporate and government printing needs remain in the black-and-white domain where the number of pages printed annually is steadily increasing. The US National Archive and Records Administration estimates US companies produce a total of more than 4 billion pages for archiving each year, equivalent to 1 400TB of data.
"These documents represent only a fraction of the printed paper produced each year," says David Terry, GM of TallyCom. "When companies purchase mono laser printers to deal with their enormous corporate printing tasks, they don`t want the latest and greatest gadget, but the fastest and most reliable printers available."
To support this requirement, Tally has released its latest networked mono laser printer, the T9220. "A workgroup laser designed for both small companies and departmental use in large corporations, the T9220 offers a more flexible printing solution that marries high-volume printing with high-speed capacity," Terry adds.
Specifically, the T9220 prints up to 20 simplex A4 pages per minute or 10 full duplex pages per minute, with a workload that can manage up to 100 000 pages per month. For specialised printing, heavy media is handled via the 100-sheet multi-purpose feeder. A second 550-sheet cassette can be added to increase productivity even further. Additionally, A5 and A4 paper is fed into the printer from the standard cassette.
Configuring the system and linking it to a network is made simple through the inclusion of an internal Ethernet port and TALLY SYNC THRU, a network management tool that makes installation quick and simple, even allowing remote configuration of the printer over a network.
Tally has also ensured the T9220 meets the demands of the most technology-savvy companies. A wireless LAN interface can be installed for easy connectivity without the hassle of laying cables.
The last thing any worker needs is a printer that requires constant attention for the changing of paper trays, or a printer that suffers from regular paper jams. The T9220 has advanced paper handling built in to produce a high level of automation and user productivity.
"The T9220 is compatible with almost any PC and operating system and can be connected either via parallel port or a USB 2.0 connection," concludes Terry. "There is no compromise with the T9220, a powerful workhouse printer that delivers high-speed with high-quality printing."
