Better results from Square One

Johannesburg, 25 Aug 2005

Square One Solutions is expecting a significant improvement in its figures for the six months to end-June 2005.

The group, listed on the JSE's Computer Services board, says in a trading update issued this morning that its board is satisfied that there is "a reasonable degree of certainty" that earnings and headline earnings per share will be 230% to 250% better than those of the year-earlier period.

For the six months to June 2004, Square One incurred a loss of 0.04c a share and a headline loss of 0.02c a share.

It incurred a net attributable loss of R0.93 million for the period as a result of investment and acquisition costs in its business solutions line.

However, for the full year to December, it reported headline earnings of 3.6c a share, compared with 7.8c a share the previous year.

Last month Square One announced that the agreement relating to its acquisition of the business of Utho Technologies had been dissolved.

The Square One share was trading unchanged at 60c on the JSE early this afternoon.
