Israeli information security company Beyond Security has signed a distribution agreement with Japanese company Circle, represented in Israel by Circle-Star.
Under the agreement, Circle will distribute Beyond Security`s systems in Japan, one of the world`s largest information security markets. Circle`s customers include Fujitsu, Toyota Motor, Honda Motor, Sony, and Nippon Telegraph.
The Japanese information security market was estimated at $1.4 billion in 2003, of which service providers accounted for $790 million; it is projected to grow to $1.9 billion in 2004. Virtual private networks (VPN) firewall products are the largest market segment, with an estimated $261 million, followed by anti-virus - $151 million, and vulnerability assessment - $116 million. Beyond Security operates in the latter market, which accounts for 18.4% of Japan`s total information security services market, and which is projected to grow 60% to $186 million in 2004 the fastest growth of any segment in the information security market.
Beyond Security announced last year that it was entering the North American market through an exclusive distribution agreement with Chicago-based firm BeyondIP, and has opened an office in California, in addition to a sales office in Canada. Beyond Security also has an international distribution network, which now includes Brazil, Japan, SA, Taiwan and the US.
