Bheki Khumalo quits Siemens

Johannesburg, 18 Oct 2006

Siemens executive director of corporate affairs Bheki Khumalo will leave the company at the end of the year.

Siemens CEO Pete da Silva says Khumalo, who joined the company last year from the president`s office, would also resign from his position on the group`s executive committee.

Khumalo will join petrochemicals group Sasol as group general manager, with responsibility for government, corporate affairs (which includes corporate social investment, brand marketing, sponsorship and media) and black economic empowerment.

"In the relatively short time that Bheki spent with Siemens, he engineered a new dimension of relationship management," says Da Silva.

"Besides directing the activities of our units for major events, government relations and corporate communications, Bheki worked side-by-side with many of our business units and created opportunities for dialogue in the company and marketplace."

Da Silva also announced recently that he would leave Siemens to head A1 Grand Prix worldwide.
