Bowline Fulfilment, the Cape Town- and Johannesburg-based company specialising in supply chain management to the IT and music industries, has the exclusive Namibian distribution rights for M-Web`s Big Black Box kits.

Bowline is distributing the Big Black Box to Namibian computer resellers and stores nationwide through its sub-distributor, Windhoek-based Impact Distribution.

According to Bowline, the Namibian IT market is relatively small but is growing rapidly.

"Our first order is for 200 Big Black Box units, but our market research has shown that the demand for IT products in Namibia is growing at a tremendous rate," says Bowline national marketing manager Jonathan Thornhill.

He says the major problem in the past was the absence of a suitable distribution network to get products to resellers and retail stores.

"The recent setting-up of a distribution channel between Bowline and Namibian-based Impact in tandem with M-Web Namibia`s marketing campaign aimed at increasing the awareness of its product, have ensured a steady demand for the start-up kits, both for private and business use."

The Dot, touted as the largest computer and computer peripheral store in the country, recently opened and will also carry the imported Big Black Boxes.

Bowline is responsible for the assembly and packaging of the Big Black Box kits, as well as the replication of relevant software before the units are transported to Windhoek.
