Xerox has successfully sold its latest machine to BindCo (Pty) Ltd, established in 1995 by proud husband and wife entrepreneurs Gerhard and Avedeen Vermaak.
BindCo manufactures plastic binding elements, thermal, ring- and PVC covers and document holders. CopiCo, a division of BindCo established in 1999, will make use of the DocuColor 6060 in its mission to provide high-quality digital prints to customers.
The DocuColor 6060 printer will allow CopiCo to widen its service offering to clients, and streamline operations for improved service and overall cost saving.
Gerhard Vermaak, Director of BindCo, states: "We are the first printing company in SA to purchase the DocuColor 6060 combined with Creo front-end. It is going to be a big challenge to make a success of this as we realise that the market is moving towards digital technology more and more."
The DocuColor 6060 will allow BindCo to have access to a wider range of jobs, greater volume and increased profitability. The DocuColor 6060 will be integrated into BindCo`s existing workflows, while protecting past investments and avoiding staff re-training. The DocuColor 6060 Digital Color Press is one of the few presses that can print on an array of paper and substrates at a high-volume production printing up to 60 pages per minute. The total range of paper and substrates can be loaded in any of the four trays - two standard, two optional. This allows printers to use as many as four different stocks automatically in a single job or load an unprecedented 8 000 sheets. Advanced paper capacity, combined with the ability to load toner and paper as it runs, enables virtually non-stop printing.
Vermaak adds: "We are inundated with the quantity of work that we receive from our customers, and the printers will definitely be a huge boost to our CopiCo division. We also launched the product to all our clients at the Small Business Show and Launch Event on the 26, 27 and 28 October. The event was a huge success and many clients showed much interest in what the new colour press can do for them."
"We are pleased to have assisted BindCo make their transition from litho printing to the now ever-demanding digital printing market. We hope that the printers will help them to increase their production capacity and better their workflow management and control. This further demonstrates that Xerox continues to lead the market in both our printer/copier portfolio and service offerings," concludes Amanda Hetherington, Colour Product Manager of Bytes Document Solutions.
