IT security and communication specialist Biodata IT South Africa has secured sole distributor rights for one of the most comprehensive ISDN line encryption solutions, manufactured by DICA Technologies from which the local market stands to benefit with added video conference, voice and data transmission security.
DICA Technologies AG, also a former daughter of Biodata IT Germany, offers a hi-tech product that is compatible with worldwide ISDN standards and has been successfully installed at important corporate customers as well as in security sensitive areas like the military. Compared to competitive products, operation is user-friendly and for multiple use.

For example, it is the only system worldwide to automatically encrypt ISDN networks of different voice coding, it is globally manageable from a central location by means of a protected ISDN procedure and it is the only system with a uniform product line without special variations for voice and video conferencing. In addition, the product features multi-level key management with secure key storage in a security processor and no key exchange via the network to prevent man-in-the-middle-attacks.
All devices are compatible also to bigger MCUs (multi-conference units) with several cascaded PRI devices, independent which PRI device receives or sends the channels for the boning of the multi-channel connections. They use TripleDES encryption and a real 168-bit key length TripleDES in DICA devices uses a different key in every one of the three (triple) encryption rounds.
