IT communication and security specialist Biodata IT has entered into a sub-distribution deal with IT security solution provider SecureData. The value-added reseller agreement combines Biodata`s Utimaco SafeGuard Desktop Security, Cobion OrangeBox Content Security and Astaro Security Linux Modular Firewall solutions with SecureData`s product offering.
"This agreement will provide the market with increased value through a number of complete security solutions that cover every aspect of comprehensive ISS including intrusion detection, e-mail and Internet protection, encryption, anti-virus, firewalls and content management," says Christian Runte, director at Biodata IT.

One of the solutions covered by the deal includes Biodata IT`s OrangeBox Mail 2.0, developed by Cobion Germany. This is a new and highly effective content filtering solution for e-mail that immediately detects, for example, pornographic content and alerts administrators. This software scans both images and text.
A company is able to configure the solution so that an e-mail with unwanted material is automatically detected by the OrangeBox Mail 2.0 and immediately placed in quarantine, while the software alerts the relevant network administrator. This can be done without the sender being aware.
Utimaco is the developer behind the SafeGuard range of desktop security solutions including SafeGuard LANCrypt 2.50 SR1 for Citrix MetaFrame and Terminal Servers. Utimaco`s SafeGuard Advanced Security incorporates intelligent authentication with optional smart card/chipcard support - plus optional use of biometric authentication.
The Astaro Security Linux modular firewall encompasses e-mail virus protection, URL content filtering and reporting tools. Installed more than 100 000 times in 60 countries worldwide, the solution is aimed at network administrators who need a flexible, fast and easily configurable perimeter security gateway.
