The new group is headed by Nadine Shenker and Dr Tracy Dunbar, with a shared vision to be recognised as the knowledge hub and solution delivery group for advanced analytics in South Africa.
BITanium Analytics specialises in the IBM SPSS portfolio of statistical and predictive analytics products; Revolution R (the enterprise ready software built on the open source R Statistics language), and Zementis (a suite of software solutions for agile deployment, integration and execution of predictive analytics solutions). These solutions are an extension to the big data appliance (IBM Netezza) and business intelligence tools (Microstrategy and Cognos) currently offered by the BITanium Consulting team.
Predictive analytics rounds off the traditional business intelligence offering. While traditional BI tools are pretty good at showing where you have been, predictive analytics uses historical data combined with probabilities to better assess the future.
Shenker and Dunbar have extensive knowledge in partnering with clients to develop and implement advanced analytics solutions based on the IBM SPSS tool set. Through many years of working with different organisations, they have learnt that successful implementations require a holistic approach encompassing the needs of both IT and business, a clear strategy for consistent and evidence-based decisions and measurable return on investment.
