IT services company Edgetec has signed a distributorship deal with Holton & Associates, which operates BitDefender SA, to resell the anti-virus product locally.
Dean Irwin, security specialist at Edgetec, says: “Our specialists evaluated the technical merits of various products before settling on BitDefender. One of the requirements, besides a technically efficient product, was also a well-known business with a large market share, and one that was gaining traction locally.”
Edgetec revealed in a statement that if a customer has signed up with another anti-virus product and wants to switch to BitDefender, but have already paid for a year's licence, Edgetec will extend the BitDefender licence by a year at no extra cost.
Sue Creville, product manager at Holton & Associates, says: “Edgetec's work ethic is similar to ours with their strong customer focus and that, together with our product, creates good synergy. Our business security solutions complement that desktop capability and it was the right time for us to partner with a company like Edgetec that has a strong share of business solutions for the corporate market.”
