Sourcecom Technology Solutions, a 100% subsidiary of the leading black-owned group, Lithalelanga Technologies, has achieved Cisco silver partner status.
According to Cisco's South African channel manager, George Atrash, Sourcecom has met the personnel, support, specialisation and customer satisfaction requirements for achieving silver certification.
"This recognition demonstrates that Sourcecom is qualified to sell and install Cisco solutions and is able to provide additional support services based on a direct agreement with Cisco Systems. As a result of its recent re-certification, Sourcecom is currently one of a select few black-owned IP communications specialised partners in SA."
According to Sourcecom's Managing Executive for Engineering & Services, Tim Pryce, this achievement will enable the company to enhance its network-related service offerings not only to potential customers but to the existing customer base.
"This is made possible due to the direct support relationship that we have established with Cisco Systems.
"We can add value to our customers by offering solutions that optimise networks to improve return on investment, productivity, and competitiveness."
Pryce notes that with telecoms deregulation roll-out under way, specifically in the VOIP arena, ICT industry players will at last be positioned to deploy IP telephony and wireless LAN technologies.
"All sectors of the business community will benefit from this development, from corporates through to users located in underserviced areas where copper does not exist or is liable to be stolen.
"Moreover, Sourcecom's expertise in these technologies will enable the company to provide innovative solutions designed to enable the provision of voice and data services over broadband wireless.
He notes that the Cisco silver partnership expands Sourcecom's target market sectors.
