Mobile communications company Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled a device that plugs into a projector or monitor and projects Microsoft PowerPoint presentations wirelessly from a BlackBerry smartphone.

The BlackBerry Presenter allows users to navigate their presentations, view speaker notes, loop presentation slides and reference information on one slide while displaying another.

The Bluetooth connection between the BlackBerry smartphone and the BlackBerry Presenter allows the user to walk around freely during presentations.

“Mobile professionals are always looking to carry less when travelling,” says Glenn Laxdal, vice-president of product management at RIM.

“BlackBerry Presenter equips mobile professionals with a simple, secure and convenient way to deliver presentations directly from their BlackBerry smartphone, giving them the freedom to leave their laptops behind,” he states.
