US teens want flat rate unlimited SMS

Teens want the freedom to text or speak as much as they want for a flat rate, WirelessWeek.com reports. According to a survey commissioned by MetroPCS Communications in the US, a third of teenagers said they would do more messaging if their plans offered unlimited text.

"While many providers offer text-messaging, most charge on a per-message basis, which often creates outrageous cellphone bills," said Roger Linquist, MetroPCS` founder and CEO

The aim of the survey was to track text messaging trends, including when and why consumers are most likely to use it. The youth segment was chosen because they are noted to be the group that uses SMS the most and make a third of MetroPCS`s base.

Postini launches archive manager

Postini has launched Postini Archive Manager, a secure, managed service that allows the seamless capture, storage, discovery and deletion of e-mail and instant messaging traffic, the Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Journal reports.

The programme is designed to enable immediate and seamless archive capability without further burdening IT or corporate infrastructure, remove the costs associated with long-term storage of data; allow responsiveness in the event of litigation or any other form of legal discovery process and to provide a framework for meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
