Blizzard wins $6m lawsuit
A US district court has awarded Blizzard Entertainment $6 million in a legal dispute between the World of Warcraft developer and bot maker MDY, reports IGN.
MDY is the company behind the Glider bot, which allowed users to automate tasks such as gold farming and menial levelling in Blizzard's popular massively multimedia online (MMO) game, World of Warcraft.
Blizzard asserted the bot infringed on the game's copyright issues and Judge David Campbell ruled that the bot broke the terms of the licence that players accepted when they signed up to play the MMO.
