UK-based analyst Bloor Research has published a report stating that Hyperion`s Master Data Management (MDM) presents organisations with significant advantage when implementing business performance management (BPM) solutions.
"There is one particular element of Hyperion`s System 9 solution that is noteworthy when compared to what is on offer from other BPM vendors," says Philip Howard, a Bloor Research analyst. "This element, Hyperion Master Data Management, creates significant market advantage for the company because it gives customers a distinct BPM edge. The difficulty involved in implementing change without the benefit of master data management can be so great that companies are sometimes prepared to implement sub-optimal plans rather than go through the pain of making these changes. With Hyperion System 9 and its Master Data Management solution this should never be the case."
Founded in 1989, Bloor Research provides tailored research services and consultancy projects; and distributes research and analysis to IT user and vendor organisations internationally via online subscriptions. It recently released a paper analysing the BPM vendor market, comparing the various solutions on offer.
Hyperion System 9 is a comprehensive performance management solution integrating financial management applications with a business intelligence platform into a modular system that adapts to any business need. As such, it delivers consistent visibility of past, present and future business operations and enables sustained improvement in business performance.
Hyperion System 9 Master Data Management synchronises BPM master data, such as business dimensions, reporting structures, hierarchies, attributes and business rules, across distributed data warehouses, data marts, analytic applications and transaction systems.
"Offered in the foundation services layer of Hyperion System 9, the Master Data Management component empowers business users to directly manage complex, rapidly changing master data," says Marc Scheepbouwer, MD of local Hyperion distributor, Intellient.
