Leading solutions provider Blue Turtle Technologies has launched Vanguard SecurityCenter, the first Windows-based graphical user interface (GUI) for IBM`s Security Server and DB2 security administration.
Henry Peens, business development manager of Blue Turtle, says the solution is ideal for decentralized security administration. "SecurityCenter graphically presents elusive security information, thereby enhancing the security administrator`s efficiency," he says.
"In addition, the time saved by automating and simplifying routine tasks translates directly into cost savings. Vanguard SecurityCenter expedites daily Security Server and DB2 security tasks, reducing associated costs and increasing accuracy."
SecurityCenter provides an easy, intuitive training environment that quickly brings less experienced staff members up to speed. Point-and-click and drag-and-drop operations replace dozens of native commands.
The solution allows security administrators to decentralize appropriate tasks to departmental level personnel by offering them a view limited to those users, groups and resources within their responsibility. In addition, it removes some routine tasks from security administrators, giving them time to concentrate on more important tasks such as overall security strategy.
Commenting on the benefits of SecurityCenter, Peens lists familiar Windows-style features, easy automation of routine tasks, and information which is presented in an intuitive, easy-to-understand manner.
"Auditors can view all information associated with users and groups without the tedious task of printing and analysing reports," he points out. "Furthermore, SecurityCenter identifies obsolete IDs, deleted users or groups that still appear on access lists."
Blue Turtle Technologies provides innovative solutions for managing the challenges of today`s IT infrastructures and leveraging technology to business advantage. The company is the official South African distributor for Vanguard Integrity Professionals, a world leader in complete security solutions.
