Bluetooth technology is expected to get a local boost with a promotional partnership between Lipton Griffin International (LGI) and car dealer Extreme Sixteen.
The deal sees Extreme Sixteen customers being offered a free Motorola Bluetooth car kit fitted with every vehicle sold this month.
The Motorola equipment provided through LGI is compatible with Bluetooth-enabled handsets from all vendors.
"The market has responded in such a strongly positive manner to the introduction of kits using Bluetooth technology that it is clearly the mobile communications model that the SA user base wants to adopt," says Greg Lipton, GM of LGI.
Lipton notes that Bluetooth car kits allow hands-free phone calls even when the handset is ensconced in the car`s boot, out of the reach of potential roadside smash-and-grab artists.
