BMC maps BSM offerings

BMC Software has completed the mapping of its business service management (BSM) offerings to the IT Institute's COBiT framework, reports cbronline.

BMC says its move differs from those of its systems management rivals, in that most have focused on with the ITIL (IT Infrastructure Libraries) framework, which covers IT service management and delivery.

The company says its current move echoes a recent effort by ISACA to map COBiT controls to ITIL, because IT governance and service management have obvious synergies.

SAP unveils standardised processes

SAP has unveiled new standardised processes to help customers and operate their SAP solutions more efficiently, with low risk and at low cost, says PRNewswire.

SAP says its standards for solution operations will help IT and business process experts harness their widespread IT landscapes and better implement their enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) strategies.

The new standards for solution operations are mapped out in the newest release of SAP(R) Solution Manager, SAP's application management solution, and are planned for global availability.
