BMC validates Patrol for Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

BMC , the provider of e-business systems management, has validated its Patrol e-business systems management solutions for Microsoft Certified Datacenter Server edition on leading OEM hardware systems including Compaq, Dell, IBM and Unisys.

Through the validation of Patrol and together with Microsoft, BMC can assure delivery of high-quality level management (SLM) solutions to customers as they deploy Microsoft .NET Enterprise Servers, all based on Windows 2000. BMC is testing these solutions for certification through Veritest.

"Microsoft has built a compelling vision around .NET," says Reg Swart, BMC operations and product manager at BMC Master Distributor CCH Enterprise Solutions. "It will be one of the building blocks of the foundation for the third generation of the , and we can expect to see it taken up on a broad scale by organisations. Managing this environment proactively is BMC`s objective."

As a global partner, BMC works with Microsoft on a worldwide level to ensure development of management solutions necessary for customers to run Windows-based applications. High availability and performance of the Datacenter Server remain objectives of BMC`s Patrol for Windows 2000 Server products.

BMC also will provide OEM customers with turnkey solutions and help them achieve high levels of reliability, availability and scalability.

Both BMC`s and Microsoft`s complete product and services offerings based on Windows 2000 Datacenter Server and the Windows Datacenter Program will be available before year-end.

Windows for the enterprise The Windows Datacenter Programme was kicked off on 26 September in San Francisco as part of Microsoft`s Enterprise 2000 Launch event. As a Global Enterprise Partner, BMC was chosen to participate in the event and will be showing its solutions onsite. Datacenter Server will be joined by the .NET enterprise servers, comprised of SQL Server 2000, Exchange 2000 Server, BizTalk Server 2000, Commerce Server 2000, Application Center 2000, Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000, and Host Integration Server 2000 as well as other enterprise-ready products and services.
