BMI-TechKnowledge, the African ICT research house, says the recent resignation of staff members does not reflect a negative sentiment, but is a natural process.

ITWeb reported last week that BMI-T 's marketing and sales director Haydon Saulez and business unit manager Andreas Bertoldi had quit the company, along with four other staff members.

BMI-T executive chairman Dennis Smit says the company is experiencing major growth and is consolidating its position as a pan-African, as opposed to South African, ICT research house.

"Human resource restructuring is a natural result of this growth. Furthermore, BMI-T has a strong and prosperous relationship with respected international research firm International Corporation, which allows BMI-T access to world-class, best-practice methodologies and resources to enhance quality standards."

Andre Wills, MD of BMI-T, believes that with dramatic shifts being experienced within the ICT sector, the organisation is confident that stringent analysis of the sector is paramount to strategic business success.

"The upheaval in the sector has left many companies feeling blind about future strategic direction and developments. Now, more than ever, it is essential to comprehensively map out the future of ICT within an organisation.

"The exponential growth experienced in the IT markets of Africa has heralded a new realisation of the wealth of IT opportunities that exist across the continent."

He cites the liberalisation of the telecommunications industry, rapid uptake of services across the continent and the establishment of regional market hubs by multinational companies as key drivers for this growth in Africa.
