Intel has invested $3 million into WiMax, a wireless technology that has not lived up to its billing as the successor to WiFi, reports Cnet.
The investment will see the start-up of Aicent, which will provide data network, messaging, and roaming solutions for GSM and CDMA mobile operators.
Intel will push WiMax in its laptops and mobile Internet and allow users access to hubs and to connect across different carriers running different wireless technologies.
