Borland Software Corporation, a global leader for software delivery optimisation solutions, today announced a strategic alliance agreement with Capgemini, one of the world`s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services.
Under terms of the agreement, Borland and Capgemini will collaborate on joint sales offerings and go to market strategies, combining expertise in application lifecycle management, enterprise resource planning and service-oriented architectures. Also under the agreement, Borland`s solutions will be showcased in various Capgemini Solution Centres serving as both a resource for joint customers and as a primary training facility for sales representatives of the global systems integrator.
"Capgemini is on the leading-edge of consultative process improvement for many of the world`s best run IT organisations," said Miles Mahoney, vice-president of worldwide alliances at Borland. "Capgemini`s focus on making software a more strategic and valuable asset to businesses aligns well with Borland`s own software delivery optimisation strategy. Bringing together our combined experience in enterprise software and process improvement can offer an advantage to customers who are looking to get the most out of their software."
The alliance is structured to allow both Borland and Capgemini`s sales forces and service organisations to leverage one another`s strengths, offering joint customers an accelerated application lifecycle management (ALM) solution. This ALM solution is designed to help Capgemini consultants and ERP customers work more effectively across multiple stages of the software lifecycle in order to deliver better software, faster. The solution also is intended to enhance Capgemini`s ability to efficiently deliver high-quality solutions to its clients.
Borland and Capgemini intend to target worldwide accounts that are looking for a robust software delivery platform on which to adapt and expand their ERP and back-office capabilities, and expect to initially focus on customers such as those in Capgemini`s SAP solutions organisation. The parties expect this focus will set the groundwork for expanding the relationship to address other customer segments.
"Borland`s focus on openness and platform neutrality, as well as their vision for making software a more efficient and predictable business process, make them a great fit for our organisation," said Adolf Allesch, vice-president, SAP solutions at Capgemini.
"Our customers` ERP systems are critical to their businesses - they not only want to see a quick return on their investments, they want to ensure those investments have the agility to leverage future technology and business innovations. As one of the leaders in software delivery, Borland has a vision for helping customers achieve the highest value from their software."
Borland`s ALM solutions are designed to enable customers to improve application quality, reduce costs, cut maintenance time and increase the flexibility to change, expand or upgrade software applications. They work across, and integrate with, major development platforms and operating systems including Linux, Windows, Java, Unix and the Microsoft.NET framework - empowering organisations to make the technology choices that best fit their business.
