PRAGMA, leading provider of Asset Management Solutions, announced that BP Africa and City Power, Johannesburg, commissioned PRAGMA SIYABONGA to implement PRAGMA`s Asset Management Solutions to better manage their assets.

PRAGMA SIYABONGA was awarded a contract to perform an Asset Data Audit for the Distribution Department of City Power in Johannesburg. PRAGMA will be responsible to identify, record and verify all low voltage, ie 66-11 kV Assets within the City Power Distribution network. PRAGMA SIYABONGA will also use the ON KEY Automated Condition Assessment System to accurately record the condition of these assets.

Currently, City Power uses the ON KEY Maintainer Asset Management System to management the maintenance of all their High Voltage Assets. Their decision to expand this function to include the low voltage assets is a natural growth process that aims to enable the management of City Power to:

* Apply accurate depreciation of equipment for financial purposes;

* Plan the expenditure for replacement and / or refurbishment of infrastructure elements;

* Determine the long-term financial requirements for the operations division of City Power.

BP Africa showed its confidence in PRAGMA`s proven AMiP Methodology by awarding an Asset Management Assessment contract to PRAGMA SIYABONGA. The contract entails a complete assessment of a representative spectrum of BP Africa facilities in SA, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

The Asset Management assessment will be based on a physical assessment of their facilities as well as an appraisal of identified operational practices and performance indices. Through this project PRAGMA SIYABONGA will aim to assist the Asset Management Department of BP Africa to:

* Obtain a comprehensive understanding of Asset Management Requirements;

* Compile an action plan to effect improvements and to budget for these;

* Align the Corporate and Asset Management Strategies in order to meet long term Business Goals;

* Compile a baseline for improvement in support of transforming the Asset Management Practices to be in line with world-class standards.
