Black empowerment company Brainbug Interconnect, a Gauteng-based software developer and integrator, has secured distribution rights for Autologica`s motor Dealer Management System (DMS) with exclusive rights for Africa.
Autologica is based in Argentina and is represented in the US, UK, Europe and Asia.
Aadil Aboobaker, CEO of the local software developer, says Brainbug`s existing relationship with South African motoring company Delta prompted an investigation into DMS.
Brainbug considered developing a system from scratch, "but came across Autologica`s system some time ago, and landed the distribution contract in July".
The company sells, implements and supports the system along with Intel-based hardware for a starting price of R75 000.
"There are about 1 200 motor dealers in SA. Some 65% of them don`t have such a system," says Aboobaker.
Dealer management software manages point of sale, parts and vehicle stock, vehicle and workshop sales, floor plans, vehicle financing, workshop management, customer relationship management, accounting, executive reporting and cash flow.
Autologica can also provide business-to-business functionality over the Internet - interconnecting dealers and manufacturers - as well as allow order exchange, warranty claims, price updates, and manage multiple branches and franchises.
Brainbug offers hosted, client-server and in-house rental options. It can support Autologica remotely via Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services.
Autologica has rolled out its system for John Deere and Renault`s National Dealer Network in South America.
