Brainware group expands with newcomer from Sanlam

Johannesburg, 14 Oct 1998

Former managerial staff of Sanlam`s electronic business arm e-Biz, formed a partnership with the Brainware group of companies. The newcomer, Brainware e-Commerce, have been incorporated into the group as an independent technology company specialising in electronic business to strengthen the existing capacity of the Brainware group.

Share holding in Brainware e-Commerce exists of Brainware Ltd., Brainware Communications Brainware Cape and the management of Brainware e-Commerce. According to Mr George Holtzhausen, managing director of Brainware e-Commerce, the present restructuring of Sanlam "created the opportunity for former managerial staff and other personnel of Sanlam e-Biz to show initiative and to form a partnership with one of the country`s leading technology companies."

Brainware e-Commerce will focus particularly on the creation of technological business solutions and electronic commerce such as the transfer of information, financial transactions, internet software development, integration and marketing. Brainware Cape and Brainware Communications` biggest target market is the corporate business market and government institutions, as well as small and medium enterprises and e-Commerce will fill an important gap in this market.

Mr Kobus Louw, managing director of Brainware, said that he is exited about acquiring such a leader-group in the technology industry as a partner. "We can now combine this expertise with the current capacity within the Brainware group. It strengthens our ability to provide a service through the innovative utilization of modern technology and thereby assisting companies in lifting their profit margins whilst cutting costs at the same time.

"With this new capability the Brainware group is now even better equipped and positioned to offer clients holistic and integrated electronic business solutions."
