Ascential Software`s Media360 media asset management solution has been deployed by Brazil`s prime-time TV market leader, Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao (SBT), MDNM to improve access, preservation and reuse of its entire broadcast recording archive.
SBT expects its new media asset management platform to improve efficiency and reuse of media assets for its multiple production teams, allowing SBT to record and index video and audio broadcast information for near real-time reuse in other programming projects and media outlets.
"As a major broadcaster with more then 108 broadcast affiliates in Brazil and a 450-person programming organisation, we need to ensure that our entire media archive is available to all departments while also maintaining and protecting these assets for continued future use," says Alfonso Aurin Palacin, SBT engineering director.
"Our Digital Infrastructure Project, based on Ascential Media360, has enabled simultaneous access by all production teams to SBT`s entire broadcast archive - including 80 000 hours of video and audio.
