Breakthrough for Eurpoe 3D TV

German and Swiss researchers believe that they have discovered a new technology that could affordably deliver 3D viewing into homes, reports Rapid TV News.

Germany's Infitec has developed technology based on glasses using a narrow colour band wave to improve the quality of the image, using specific wavelengths of red, green and blue for the right eye and different wavelengths of the same colours for the left eye.

The glasses filter out very specific wavelengths giving the illusion of a 3D image. Infitec has partnered up with Optics Balzers, a Swiss company that specialises in 3D filters, and with whom it is developing a 3D LCD screen known as the Dualplex Display.
