Customer demands for real time business reports which have to be drawn from back-end SAP systems can now be met with a few mouse clicks, thanks to Web Output Pak for SAP, a new addition to the JetForm stable of products distributed in South Africa by Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI).
"It has become critical in the e-business age for companies to be able to provide business documents to customers, employees and other end users in real time. Often the data for these reports are only found deep with the company`s SAP environment," says Dave Grant, product manager for JetForm at GBI.
"Generating SAP R/3 reports and then circulating them physically - as their size often makes electronic distribution impractical - is time consuming and can mean the difference between maintaining the competitive advantage or not," says Grant.
"JetForm Web Output Pak for SAP enables real time delivery of form output for SAP R/3 and mySAP.com systems, to be presented online in PDF or HTML format on demand," Grant says.
The web integration facility means that these documents can be pulled off the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week, speeding up end user interaction time, often by days.
"JetForm`s Web Output Pak for SAP saves end user and company time and costs by allowing line of business users to view customer critical data when and where they want, without having to undertake conventional queries and human based interaction prior to obtaining the data," Grant continues.
An end-user can query the SAP system using an ordinary Internet browser for a specific document and have that document prepared and presented onscreen, either as an ordinary webpage or in PDF format. "The improvement in customer service does not have to be imagined," Grant adds.
The reports generated in PDF format allow high quality printing or electronic viewing. PDF format is recommended if the document is to be printed, as no HTML page prints to PDF standard.
