Britehouse deepens governance, risk and compliance offering with TWC acquisition

Growth strategy continues as Britehouse again scales up for future client needs.

Johannesburg, 05 Jun 2014

As part of its growth strategy aimed at trebling revenues by 2017, the Britehouse Group has acquired TWC, the country's largest independent specialist in SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).

"A component of our strategy to provide Digital Solutions to our clients is to offer our clients a comprehensive suite of SAP specialisation areas," says Britehouse Group CEO, Scott Gibson. "So, the acquisition of 100% of TWC adds not just GRC knowledge, but deep GRC experience to our capabilities, at a time when most organisations have to prioritise GRC as a business discipline.

"Also, while the TWC acquisition immediately brings us to scale in a vital business discipline, it gives us the means to grow organically in this area. As TWC's skills and resources become part of our existing talent base, we will be very strongly positioned to provide the integrated solutions for which customers are now looking.

"We started out as SAP specialists and will retain and continuously expand that capability. But GRC as a discipline touches all aspects of an organisation and its technology landscape. So, it enhances our ability to function as a digital systems integrator, an IT business solutions provider and an SAP implementation consulting organisation and, therefore, to grow into new solutions and new markets."

The TWC transaction was finalised in May this year and the two companies will be fully merged by September 2014.

"As a specialist in GRC and SAP with a ten year track record, we'd had a number of offers before Britehouse approached us," says Tinus Wagner, TWC founder and CEO. "We responded to Britehouse because there is a close cultural fit, and we are as delivery focused as Britehouse, running our businesses on similar principles. It was also important for TWC to align itself with an organisation that has proven success in the areas of Mobility, Cloud Solutions, Big Data and SAP's HANA Offerings.

"We'd reached a point in our own growth where we needed to join forces with another company that had the industry's respect. To be able to do so with likeminded people is a considerable bonus. TWC also brings strong leadership and a consulting team with deep experience in System Integration and implementations."

Tinus Wagner will take the position of Group Executive, SAP Line of Business of Britehouse's Specialist SAP division (SSD), strengthening the existing leadership of the company.

"Tinus will add strategic depth to the operational dynamism at an executive level," says Britehouse Group COO, Paolo Masselli. "In Addition TWC's 60-strong staff complement will provide us extra capacity on Project delivery while enabling us to make our exceptionally high standards of delivery available to a much broader range of clients."
