Britehouse expands and creates significant extra value for customers

Johannesburg, 27 Oct 2015

Following Dimension Data's acquisition of the remaining 60% shareholding, Britehouse has grown to include the existing Dimension Data Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, and Application Services practices.

Britehouse will retain its operational independence and branding and following the merge is a powerhouse with over 1 400 employees delivering Digital Solutions on SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and Proprietary technology platforms. The entity will be one of the largest SAP, Oracle and Microsoft practices in the country.

Former Britehouse CEO, Scott Gibson, takes on the responsibility of building Dimension Data's newly established global Digital Practice, and Paolo Masselli has been appointed to take over the CEO role of the new enlarged Britehouse. "Britehouse has become the Digital Practice and Applications capability for Dimension Data in Africa," says Masselli.

"For most companies today, digital applications and solutions are the means to differentiation and sustainability. If these are also supported by the best possible networking and data centre technologies, then you have the best of all worlds.

"For customers, therefore, the synergies created by combining Dimension Data and Britehouse mean the elimination of technology limits to their growth and the accelerated achievement of their strategic objectives".

Donovan Lawrence, former head of Dimension Data Applications Services, now Chief Operating Officer of the Britehouse Group, says that merging the two companies' digital solution skills enables a much more cohesive offering to customers. "Because we will be consolidating as many as 19 different companies and business units within the new Britehouse entity, we can bring a far greater breadth and depth of SAP, Microsoft, and Oracle skills to bear in a more targeted way. In the process, we will help customers blend digital and more conventional capabilities as well as enterprise mobility.

"There aren't many fully rounded packages like this out there."

The decision to retain the Britehouse brand builds on the company's strong reputation in the South African market and its ethos of innovation and agility.

The Oracle businesses - Xpedia, Agile and iFactory - initially acquired by Dimension Data Application Services will now form part of the new Britehouse organisation too.

Another key asset is the Britehouse Business Control Centre, which enables pro-active, pre-emptive monitoring of customer technology landscapes and, therefore, continuous improvement of those landscapes and related business performance. It is the only one of its kind in Africa. This asset will now be leveraged by the new additions to Britehouse stable to provide richer business value service to the broader client set.

Britehouse, together with Dimension Data, is one of only three certified SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service providers in the world. And, it is the only company in South Africa to offer a mobility platform, Atajo, on which customers can build their enterprise mobility solutions.

"The Britehouse offerings stack very nicely on top of Dimension Data's managed cloud platform," Masselli says. "As a result, we are able to offer a remarkable spectrum of integrated, orchestrated, advisory, consulting, sales, project implementation, outsourcing, cloud, support, services, digital, social, and application development options.

"Customers can get everything they need from one relationship, one business entity, and one contractual agreement. It's an easier, faster, more affordable, and much more effective way to move into the future."
