South African end-to-end IT services provider, Bromide Technologies, has achieved Microsoft Gold Partner status within six months of a board decision to pursue this prestigious certification.
"What makes this accreditation rather more difficult to achieve than equivalent programmes in the IT industry, is the fact that a company can`t just go for training, appoint a certain number of Microsoft Certified engineers and receive certification," explains sales and marketing director for Bromide Technologies, Louis Steyn.
"In each of the major competencies covered by Microsoft`s software solutions, we had to list various successfully completed customer reference sites. Only once these referrals were confirmed by Microsoft and we had accrued sufficient projects per sector, did we gain entry to the Gold Partner Accreditation programme," Steyn continues. "The advantage of becoming a member of this exclusive group of companies is much more than prestige - it means all prospective clients of ours now know outright that we have proven skills and experience in delivering solutions to any Microsoft related challenges they may be facing."
Steyn points out that the company would not have been able to qualify for Gold Certified status in such a short period of time, had it not managed to become one of a handful of Microsoft partners invited to join Microsoft`s Quantum Leap Programme, specifically aimed at accelerating a potential Gold Partner`s certification. By making very specific and focused training available to Bromide immediately as and when the company required it, Microsoft paved the way for the IT solutions specialist to achieve its goal as quickly as possible.
"Gold Certified status also means that our technical and professional staff members will undergo ongoing training, which means we will always be optimally positioned to assist our customers with the latest available tools and technologies from Microsoft," Steyn enthuses.
In one of the most recent major Microsoft projects completed by Bromide Technologies, the company carried out a complete Active Directory roll-out for Kwezi V3 Engineers, a leading local consultancy in the fields of engineering and development services. The second largest project of this nature ever in the country, this involved migrating all Kwezi`s users, systems and servers spread around 26 locations countrywide onto the Active Directory infrastructure within three months. A full outsource contract has also been put in place for Bromide to maintain the countrywide solution, while another member of the Bromide Group, Ensync, is delivering all the managed connectivity to Kwezi V3.
Bromide Technologies delivers an end-to-end service, ranging from IT and networking infrastructure to ERP and back-office solutions. While the company addresses speciality fields through its shareholding in five ICT sector companies, core resources such as finance and administration, logistics, technical skills and sales are shared between the different entities, ensuring a single customer interface across the group.
