Brother expands into mono inkjet fax

Johannesburg, 30 Mar 2007

Brother (through its local distributor Brotek) announced the release of the new mono inkjet fax, the FAX-1360. The FAX-1360 functionality will benefit the small business and home office environments.

The FAX-1360 offers a large memory capacity and a fast copy speed of 18 copies per minute.

Fred Saayman from Brotek, the distributor of Brother in SA, says: "Contrary to popular opinion, the SA fax market remains a significant one and there remains a steady demand for single-function fax machines.

"This new fax model offers resellers a new opportunity to capitalise on the strength of the Brother brand in this market."

The FAX-1360 has a large 14.4K modem, handset with cord, copy resolution of 600 x 600 and TX Transit memory allowing up to 250 pages to be stored if paper runs out. The FAX-1360 has a capability of being able to broadcast from 160 locations.

Saayman added: "Brother constantly develops new technology and this latest compact and inexpensive fax machine is perfect for the small business and home office.

"Inkjet printing is starting to prove to be a reliable and cost-effective method of receiving faxes."

The FAX-1360 uses the LC1000BK single blank pigment ink cartridge producing a yield of up to 500 pages with 5% coverage.

All Brother products come with the backup of the helpline and technical support and a 12-month warranty. All users can log on to the Brother Solutions centre at http://solutions.brother.com to view FAQs and receive the full benefit of their machine's functionality.
