Brother International Corporation, through its local distributor Brotek, today continued to solidify its position as a leader in providing laser printing solutions to the home office, small office, corporate office and government markets, with the introduction of its new HL-4050CDN high speed network colour laser printer with automatic duplex.
At print speeds of 20ppm in both colour and monochrome, this printer sets a new standard for performance, print quality and consumer value.
The printer will be available towards the middle/end of July 2007 from Brotek, the official Brother distributor in SA.
Today's announcement builds on Brother's legacy of making desired levels of printing functionality available and affordable to all marketplaces. For years, this market has been looking for a viable, everyday colour printer. The Brother HL-4050CDN ideally addresses both the performance and value these users have been searching for.

Fast, feature rich
The HL-4050CDN features a 20ppm print engine for both colour and monochrome output. At this level of performance, users can concentrate on producing and delivering their work, rather than waiting for the critical output they need for their busy daily routines.
The HL-4050CDN's speed does not come at the expense of print quality. The Brother HL-4050CDN produces colourful, high resolution 2400x600dpi output that results in razor-sharp text and brilliant colour quality to consistently produce professional-looking documents.
The printer has a built-in Ethernet network connectivity as standard, in addition to the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. It also offers duplex as standard, allowing you to print on both sides of the paper, resulting in cost-saving by using less paper. The printer offers PCL6 emulation, as well as a USB Direct Interface that allows compatibility with both PictBridge and USB Flash memory drives for printing without being connected to a PC or the network.
Low cost per page printing
The HL-4050CDN uses an easy access front-loading system for all consumables. The user has the option of choosing "standard" or "high yield" toners - whichever best fits their budget or type of use.
The HL-4050CDN printer will come standard with a set of "standard" toner cartridges and a drum unit.
