BSG is pleased to announce that it has won the Proudly South Africa Homegrown Award for 'Innovator of the year' in the SMME category.
BSG's unique achievement demonstrates how it challenges the status quo in both business and IT. The key innovation behind BSG's entry was the self-funded development of a system called Smart. Smart is a system designed along national guidelines for administering the roll-out of anti-retroviral treatment in South Africa.
BSG has been successful in pioneering the development of Smart in the field. It has done this in order to assist NGOs who have taken the responsibility of fighting HIV/Aids in South Africa, but do not necessarily have the right business analysis and IT skills to develop such a system to help them administer treatment. There is also a lot of interest in Smart in the corporate sector for the management of company wellness and Aids intervention programmes.
"Innovation does not simply happen; you need to approach it like any other project. Firstly, you need to dedicate people to it to understand the problem in great detail, and secondly, focus on using that information to create a practical solution," says Julia Dawson, Head of Marketing of BSG.
BSG's innovative and practical concepts have led them to position themselves in the market as a company that is very different. BSG is a brand that challenges the norm and all at BSG make it their business to achieve great things for their clients and their projects.
