bSOLVe. Software + Services = Productivity
SharePoint as a platform and related industry has evolved quickly over the last few years. In years gone by, many companies carried out SharePoint projects using what can only be described as a trial-and-error methodology, but there has been a fundamental shift in this behaviour. In turn, organisations using SharePoint have become far more interested in what solutions have been a success within their peers' organisations and why, rather than simply pushing the boundaries for feature's sake.
bSOLVe believes the three primary reasons for this shift to be as follows:
* Economic pressures are forcing companies to be more risk-averse and cost-sensitive.
* People using SharePoint want to understand what it is good at and why to ensure effective use of the platform.
* People want to ensure SharePoint actually adds value, by solving real business challenges.
In order to facilitate discussions of this kind in the local industry, bSOLVe has committed to being the diamond sponsor at SharePoint Saturday 2013. The event was created for the purpose of sharing lessons from people's experiences with SharePoint, good or bad. Being Cape Town's leading SharePoint solution provider, bSOLVe wanted to lead by example and be the driving force behind this successful event.
SharePoint Saturday is a free, community focused event dedicated to educating and engaging members of the local technical and business community. SharePoint Saturday draws upon the expertise of local and international SharePoint IT professionals, developers, solution architects and business users, who come together to share their real-world experiences, lessons learned, best practices and general knowledge with other like-minded individuals.
bSOLVe has worked with SharePoint since its inception and grew up understanding and implementing the product set. This has given it excellent insight into what SharePoint's strengths and weaknesses have been over the years. Because SharePoint has matured rapidly in recent years, bSOLVe understands where it's really starting to shine. "It's like the childhood friend you grew up playing cricket with; you know exactly what to do to bowl him out. We've figured out how not to let SharePoint hit our clients for six!" says Simon Hepburn, Director.
"As SharePoint Saturday Cape Town, we're really excited about bSOLVe's involvement as our lead sponsor for 2013 and the wealth of experience they bring to the event," says Alistair Pugin, SharePoint MVP.
bSOLVe looks forward to welcoming Cape Town's SharePoint Community members to the event on the 6th-7th of September 2013 to share all things SharePoint. Further detailed information regarding the event will be released shortly by SharePoint Saturday event organisers so please keep your eyes peeled for information.
