BT unveils Delhi tech showcase centre
BT has established a new technology showcase centre in New Delhi that will bring together latest video-conferencing equipment and networked IT applications, reports Voice and Data.
It enables customers to interact directly with innovative technologies and services such as wide area network optimisation, next-generation contact centres, unified communications and IP telephony.
The new facility is aimed at delivering service delivery capabilities as customers invest throughout the region. It will create 60 new critical roles in India, the new jobs will be in sales enablement, delivery and implementation of services for customers.
According to the Telecom Paper, the opening of BT's New Delhi showcase follows the opening of BT showcases in Hong Kong in September 2010, Beijing in November 2010, Sydney in January 2011 and Singapore in March 2011. These are all networked with BT's showcase centres in London and New York.
BT Global Services Asia-Pacific President Kevin Taylor says India is a critical component to BT's success and vision and is a key location to a large number of global companies, writes CBR.
“Many of our customers are expanding into India and we are investing to extend our communications infrastructure and services to support their growth,” Taylor says.
“We have a long history of investment, a strong customer base and an excellent product and solution offering in this country, the latest example of which may be seen in the New Delhi showcase, bringing to life the opportunities offered by a networked, converged world.”
