The Government Computer Bureau of Botswana officially announced that the contract for the management of the Bureau`s Help Desk was awarded to USKO Botswana, a subsidiary company of Bytes Technology Group (BTG).
The contract involves carrying out an asset audit of all computer equipment belonging to the government as well as an ongoing contract to implement and manage the government`s help desk.
Tino Robin, Managing Director of Usko Botswana, said the audit as well as the help desk contract obtained was indicative of the increasingly important role that Usko Botswana is playing in the information technology industry in Botswana.
"We are active in the financial, mining, manufacturing, retail industries, as well as the utility sectors in Botswana, providing support services, networking support systems, the supply of desktop and network infrastructure, as well as being the country`s largest ISP," said Robin.
Rob Griggs, Executive Director of BTG responsible for the Bytes Technology Networks division, confirmed that investment into Africa is seen as an investment into developing social and economic endeavours by the group as a whole. "Furthermore, this contract serves to enhance our global strategy for Africa," he said.
