BTI launches R1m seed fund for entrepreneurs

Johannesburg, 18 Jan 2006

Bodibeng Technology Incubator (BTI) is looking to invest in special entrepreneurs who have big ideas and who need seed capital to turn their ideas into action.

We also have partners that would like to acquire a percentage stake in companies that build Web and wireless-based applications with software development.

Funding opportunity for one or more SMME

A private funder is looking to fund a suitable enterprise with up to R1 million through the BTI. We have for some time now realised that there is a great need for seed funding in the SMME development arena. Specifically for entrepreneurs that are looking for smaller amounts up to R1 million. We are fortunate to have found people that have the resources and the right attitude towards entrepreneurial development.

If you are interested in funding, the deadline date for this round is before 20 January 2006. (http://www.bti.co.za/funding/login.asp)

BTI has investor looking for ICT deal flow

BTI has been working hard to develop linkages to opportunities for its client base. The first such opportunity is outlined below. We anticipate several more opportunities for clients seeking private investment into their companies as we expand our network to serve our clients` need for investment and loan capital.

Pixal Communications Africa

Pixal Communications Africa is a technology, media and telecommunications focused investment firm that seeks to acquire a strategic equity stake in a technology firm.

Key investment criteria include:

* Small to medium-sized company;
* Offers Web and wireless-based applications with software development;
* Operational for at least two years;
* Good management skills set and expertise;
* Appetite for growth in SA and the rest of Africa; and
* Willingness to sell-off a minimum equity stake of 25.1%.

Pixal Communications Africa would like to enter into discussions with such companies interested in having strategic investment partners who can provide operational, marketing, strategic and sales expertise. Pixal looks forward to discussing its plan, on how it can add value to your company through the various business opportunities available to them.

For more information, send a short e-mail acknowledging your interest and including a short executive summary of your business activities (two pages or less) with the subject line "Pixal" to dealflow@bti.co.za.

BTI will forward these enquiries to Pixal Communications Africa. Please do not contact the company directly; priority and preference is given to opportunities presented through the BTI. Interested parties must be registered on the BTI domain with complete and updated profiles. There is no charge to register and it`s easy (see `BTI shows you the money: BTI deal facilitation and sales opportunities` below). Expect more opportunities like this from the BTI in the very near future.

BTI shows you the money: BTI deal facilitation and sales opportunities

The BTI is actively using the profiles of registered clients and users to facilitate investment deal flow and sales opportunities. We use your profile and other information to properly match you with the appropriate opportunities.

With new investors interested in financing and investing in the incubator`s clients as well as increasing interest from the procurement departments of large corporates (including the big banks and other blue chip companies), it is imperative that you update your profiles on the BTI Web site.

When filling in the descriptive text, keep in mind we use key word searches just like Google and other search engines use. While the company description should be in readable format, the real value will be reaped by using words that describe key aspects of what you do, including skill sets, market focus and main lines of business.

Our investors and procurement enquiries seek businesses of all types and sizes, so please fill out your profile completely and accurately. In this way, membership of the BTI domain becomes more valuable in real rands and cents. If you haven`t updated your profile, please do so today. If you haven`t yet registered, please register now (it`s FREE). To register, go to http://www.bti.co.za/reg/register.asp. To update your profile, go to http://www.bti.co.za/reg/login.asp.
