BTP completes IT modernisation
Clear, systems-driven project management has enabled British Transport Police (BTP) to successfully complete a wide-ranging 18-month IT modernisation programme covering six major projects.
BTP`s IT department is using Web-based management software and has adopted project management techniques borrowed from the construction industry to hit its deadlines and budgets for all the projects.
Andrew Watson, BTP`s head of technology, said targets were hit across the board and all 38 employees were put through IT Infrastructure Library accreditation, reports ComputerWeekly.com.
Qwest adds PM to iQ Networking service
Qwest Communications International released its iQ Networking service with project management (PM), according to a release. iQ Networking is an MPLS-based WAN platform for business customers worldwide. Qwest enterprise customers use the service as the underlying data infrastructure to connect all of their locations, the company says.
The service offers qualified customers a manager for the day-to-day tasks before, during and through complete implementation of iQ Private Port solutions, the company adds.
"Qwest iQ Networking, coupled with project management service, is a great way to address the real business challenges associated with any evolution to a new enterprise network," says Eric Bozich, VP of network services for Qwest.
Chinese construction firms adopt Prolog
Meridian Systems, provider of enterprise project management software for capital projects, programmes and facilities, has announced the market adoption for Prolog software within the Chinese construction and engineering industry.
Meridian authorised reseller ProjectAIMS has jointly developed with Meridian a Chinese-localised version of Prolog Manager and Prolog WebSite.
ProjectAIMS has successfully implemented Prolog at several major Chinese firms, allowing them to embrace these project management and collaboration solutions in their native language.
