Cape Town-based Bucknet, a division of Atreyu Enterprises, is expanding its operations into Europe and the US.

A relatively new provider, Bucknet brought several low-cost bundled offerings to market this year.

Bucknet CE Ralf Muller says the company has opened sales offices in the Netherlands and the US.

"These offices only sell our Web hosting package and Web design services. All billing is done in rands and therefore it is a lot cheaper for countries with a stronger currency," Muller says.

Bucknet has also moved some of its hosting servers offshore, with some in the US and some in Europe.

"We believe this will make e-commerce more affordable and faster. We are also offering complete unlimited Internet dial-up access with the Web-hosting package, at a total of R250 per month."

Muller reports that Bucknet has also expanded its reseller programme to offer financial support and , and is considering introducing grassroots projects in informal settlements.
