PC component manufacturer Asus is running a DIY competition to test enthusiasts` expertise in putting together a high-performance home-built PC, based on Asus motherboards with Intel`s 915 and 925 chipsets.
The Asus 915/925 System DIY Competition runs from 15 September to 15 November and contestants can win one of 10 Asus notebooks or 30 personal digital assistants.
Contestants are required to overclock the system using the features offered with motherboards. They must then run one of the four benchmark programs available from the competition Web site and their scores must reach the standards set by Asus engineers. The last step is to send in the results and photos of the system to Asus.
Asus is also running a Motherboard Quiz Challenge. Different questions will be posted daily until 15 November and the more questions one answers correctly, the greater the chances of winning an Asus P5GD2 Premium motherboard.
