Local ISP World Online has launched "Website in a Box", a solution for small and medium enterprises, clubs, schools, religious institutions and families looking to set up their own Web sites. With an emphasis on affordability, Website in a Box offers customers a Web site that is customised and tailored to suit their needs, regularly updated, and hosted by World Online. The solution was developed by TailoredWebs.com, a local provider of Web site solutions.
Says Michelle Branco, World Online B2C Product and Marketing manager: "Usually there are only two options for creating a website. You can hire a professional designer at great cost, or you can create a Web site from scratch. This is cheaper, but it can take weeks to come up with a decent design and implement.
"Website in a Box does all the hard work for you. It enables companies, social and cultural organisations and educational institutions to have a presence on the Internet without having to worry about expensive start-up and running costs."
The solution is quick and easy to use, allowing customers to edit and personalise professionally designed templates for their own sites.
World Online is offering two versions of the product: The classic package, at R89 per month, includes design, development, implementation, a free complete update every month, as well as hosting, maintenance and marketing. The gold package, at R199 per month, includes the same plus a unique domain name (www.yourname.co.za), personal e-mail address (cass@yourname.co.za), free e-mail virus scanning, private Web site hosting, statistics and SpeechMail. The Web sites can be upgraded to facilitate e-commerce if required.
"The solution allows you to select your own look and feel, letting you choose the colours and fonts you prefer so that you can personalise your Web site," says Branco. "No Internet knowledge or expertise is required and you don`t even need your own computer or software to run your Web site."
Website in a Box can be ordered from the World Online call centre on 0800 00 56 56, or by visiting www.wiab.co.za Once the required forms have been completed, you will receive your own Website In a Box containing documents and templates which enable World Online to create your site.
The site categories available for selection are: business, club, family, school or religion.
Once you have selected the site of your choice, you will be required to provide World Online with information that is relevant to your Web site, including photos and logos. These images will be added to your site at no additional cost.
