To improve efficiencies at its Johannesburg-based head office, Cashbuild, retailer of building materials and associated products, has replaced its home-grown payroll system with an integrated human resources and payroll solution from people management solution specialist Accsys, a member of the JSE-listed UCS Group.
Cashbuild sells directly to cash paying customers through its 118 stores in South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana and Swaziland. The company carries a competitively priced, quality product range that is geared to meet the needs of homebuilders, home improvers, contractors, farmers and traders.
"We considered tenders from several solution providers, but eventually decided to implement the Accsys system owing to its ability to handle taxes in cross-border countries where we have a presence," says Cashbuild financial controller Bev Scott.
"Additionally, we are currently implementing the ActivRetail point of sale solution from UCS Software (which is also a member of the UCS Group) in our stores. Utilising software from one group will enable us to benefit from the synergies that exist between the two companies, especially as far as product development, and service and support are concerned."
"The Accsys Peopleware Payroll is a comprehensive and flexible software package for wages and salary administration that caters for all business needs," says Accsys managing director Teryl Schroenn. "It incorporates a high level of statutory compliance with intuitive graphical interfacing, and is designed for ease of operation and flexibility.
"Additionally, the solution integrates fully with our Human Resources Management offering. It is a comprehensive system that offers user friendly, high-end performance that manage the entire spectrum of critical HR processes."
The new Accsys system is running in parallel with the existing Cashbuild system, before going live on 1 March.
People management systems provider, Accsys, markets and supports human resource Windows-based management solutions. These HR solutions cover a number of work-environment issues such as Time and Attendance, access control, payroll and human resource management.
